Large backgear operating lever is at its back-most position - it swings forward to engage the backgear. The bronze drive gear for the backgearing is unusual, but I think it was standard for the Heavy 10. Tumbler reverse gear's lever (below the spindle) is shown in the neutral position - screw cutting and long or cross feed are not operating
