Please see some information below about a lathe I recently inherited from my wife’s uncle. Unfortunately, I only know that both his, and his wife’s fathers, worked in engineering. 
The lathe serial number is: 112086. The number stamped above is 2763, which I assume is a dealer’s number?
Below the serial number is a stamped ‘JFP.’
I believe this serial number dates the lathe to circa May 1941. I also found the casting for the stand that supports the Hoover motor (1/4 HP), has a caste in date of ‘1944’ and a ‘9w’.
The lathe appears to be a 9” x 3’ type ‘c’ workshop lathe. The eye-catching red safety guards were probably added in the 1950’s or 60’s. 
I would appreciate any information about it’s recorded history.
