It was purchased new from the Wessendorff Nelms and Co, Houston Texas in April 1947.
The original owner worked as general machinist in the Houston area and retired to Minnesota in the 1970's, bringing the lathe with him. His son sold the lathe this summer.,
I have the parts list, the "How to run a lathe" and S B bulletins H1, H2, H3, and H4 that came with the lathe.,
I have not contacted the company to find out when it was shipped,
but from your web information, it was probably manufactured in 1946.,
The lathe has had more than average use, and has some bed dings and wear,
but the gears and headstock bearings are fine.,
I have cleaned and oiled it, and it now runs very smoothly.
