Originally a belt drive from an overhead jack shaft.
I purchased it in 1978 for $700, as it was being restored.
I've added a number of "modern" updates, but still use the lathe almost daily:
1 1/2  3 ph motor with a Dayton VFD
Anilam DRO and scales
AXA toolpost with 12" insert tool holders
Both ER 32 and 5-C collets with a home made collet holder
I've replaced the compound slide with one scavenged from an old Hardinge toolroom lathe.
