36672 Catalog # 22-YC, 9 in. Swing 3 Foot Bed Shipped from factory October 11, 1927 To: Edward Sweet Martinville Rd. Warsaw NY Line Shaft drive, change gears Additions: Ed designed and built and added: Power cross feed and a Steady Rest. Ed sold me the lathe in September 1964. I changed drive from line shaft to bench mounted reversing motor drive three years later. Replaced the round leather belt driving the cross feed shaft to a timing belt, Fitted a 10K quick change gear box from a CL6707 lathe, built a Collet set, Thread dial and a micrometer stop. To date one shim has been removed from the spindle bearings. After all those years of use it’s still an accurate machine. A tribute to the engineers and craftsmen of South Bend Lathe Company. I have some documentation to scan and send you. Best regards, Gary Reisdorf
