I have a model 405 catalogue # 405-Y , serial #53884. The original customer was Brownie Electric Service in Cleveland Ohio. The jobber was Hess-Schenck 
Co. This lathe is a 9” x 3’,  workshop,  date shipped 6-23-34,     B . Hor. V . MD ,  Bed B-5 ,  headstock H-15 , Tailstock T-7 , saddle S-9 ,  Comp. rest C-12 , Apron A-9 ,   R.P. Gear M 10 ,  overall length of spindle 11-13/16”, remarks – grey .   Was shipped with a 1/4 horse motor, and has a bench top drive. This is my first lathe, I bought this lathe in mid northern Ohio from a machinist. and now is in southern Ohio. Was only missing one gear,  but had the reverse gear with it. the paint is slightly rough in some places, but looks like all original paint.
